Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
I am happy to be returning to Eanes Elementary School as the Student Support Counselor. I have have been in education for many years in a variety of roles and with various responsibilities. One significant role was being a special education teacher at Eanes Elementary. I have always enjoyed working with elementary school children and Eanes has always had a special place in my heart. I have fond memories for Eanes Elementary both as a parent and a staff member. My two grown children spent many years at Eanes; as students, in after school programs, and with extra-curricular involvements. I have an undergraduate degree from The University of Northern Colorado with a double major in elementary education and special education. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado with parents who were both from Texas. I was taught that I was really a Texan who grew up in Colorado. I have a Masters of Education from Texas State University and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. I have worked as a therapist in a mental health clinic, at SAFE (Stop Abuse for Everybody) Family Shelter, in private therapy, and within the school district. My experiences include supporting children and adults with their mental health needs. I look forward to working with Mrs. Corbett again this year and reconnecting with the students and families at Eanes Elementary. Some of my responsibilities include: Social Emotional Learning Guidance Lessons Small Group and/or Individual Counseling Parent Consultation Teacher Consultation Crisis Intervention STAAR Support Campus Leadership Team Team Leader Member Leadership Team Member Live Oak Participant Class Placement Participant |
