Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
I am happy to be returning to Eanes Elementary School again this year as the Student Support Counselor. I have have been in education for many years in a variety of roles and with various responsibilities. One significant role was being a special education teacher at Eanes Elementary. I have always enjoyed working with elementary school children and Eanes has always had a special place in my heart. I have fond memories for Eanes Elementary both as a parent and a staff member. My two grown children spent many years here at Eanes; as students, in after school programs, and with extra-curricular involvements.
I have an undergraduate degree from The University of Northern Colorado with a double major in elementary education and special education. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado with parents who were both from Texas. I was taught that I was really a Texan who grew up in Colorado. I have a Masters of Education from Texas State University and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. I have worked as a therapist in a mental health clinic, at Safe Place Family Shelter, in private therapy, and within the school district. My experiences include supporting children and adults with their mental health needs.
I look forward to working with Mrs. Corbett again this year and reconnecting with the students and families at Eanes Elementary.
